Woody Island

Woody Island is the larger of the two islands at Low Isles, serving as an uninhabited mangrove habitat.

This mangrove island supports regional birdlife and marine nurseries. Visitors cannot walk on Woody Island during the seasonal closure from late September to March. This protects nesting bird populations.

Instead, view the island from the water. A strict 6-knot boat speed limit protects the surrounding waters and wildlife.
